Biography
Hume Blake Cronyn Jr. (July 18, 1911 - June 15, 2003) was a Canadian-American actor and writer. Early film roles included Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943) and Lifeboat (1944). He performed frequently alongside his second wife Jessica Tandy, including in the films The World According to Garp (1982), Cocoon (1985), and *batteries not included (1987). Their marriage lasted from 1942 until her death in 1994. He wrote the play Foxfire and television film The Dollmaker with his third wife, Susan Cooper.
